“Sorry,” Heidi tells the correction’s officers when they take Meredith Flint to central booking back in Nashville. “My partner”—she jerks a thumb McCoy’s direction—“wanted to slip her a Xanax, but I told him that was against the law without a doctor present, so…” She shrugs. “I thought she’d have tired herself out by now.”
On the flight back from Philly, the air marshal had to duct tape Meredith to her seat and stood over her in the aisle with a billy club to keep her quiet during the flight. She started ranting and screaming again the moment they deplaned, though.
Grimacing, McCoy asked, “Can’t we put tape on her mouth?”
“And get the case thrown out because of police brutality?”
“Ugh.”
